Oil Tanker Association Denies Strike, Urges Calm Amid Srinagar Fuel Rush

Srinagar, January 8: The Oil Tanker Association today strongly denied reports of a strike by its members and urged the public to remain calm amid a rush to petrol pumps in Srinagar on Sunday evening.

In a video statement, S. Harasis Singh, spokesperson for the association, asserted that messages circulating on WhatsApp about a strike were completely baseless and no such call had been made by their association or any transport unions.

Speaking to Kashmir Bulletin, official expressed concern over the panic among citizens due to misinformation. He emphasized that similar instances had occurred recently despite reassurances from the Divisional administration about sufficient fuel and essential commodity availability.

The official stressed that there is absolutely no reason for alarm as the administration is proactively monitoring the situation. Regular reviews are being conducted to ensure adequate supply, and citizens are urged not to pay heed to rumors.

“Gone are the days when people were facing problems. We will not let people suffer,” the official affirmed, reiterating the administration’s commitment to promptly addressing concerns and maintaining steady essential services.
