J&K Government Postpones Holiday for Shab-i-Miraj

Srinagar, February 5, 2024: The Jammu & Kashmir government has postponed the holiday on account of Shab-i-Miraj.

As per an order issued by the General Administration Department, the holiday which was originally scheduled on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 will now be observed on Thursday, February 8, 2024 instead.

The order number 577-JK (GAD) of 2024 was issued on February 5, 2024 by Sanjeev Verma, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary of the J&K government.

The government order stated that this change in date is a partial modification of the earlier Order No. 1582-JK(GAD) of 2023 dated December 11, 2023 which had declared the holiday on February 7.

The government order has been communicated to all administrative departments, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, and other concerned authorities.

The people have been advised to take note of the change in date. The holiday will now be observed on February 8, 2024 (Thursday) across Jammu & Kashmir.

The order has been issued to maintain uniformity in the list of holidays and to avoid any inconvenience to the people.
