Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Advisory 2024

Srinagar, 1 January 2024(KV):The Traffic Police Headquarters of Jammu & Kashmir today issued an advisory for traffic movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari Road, and Mughal Road for 1 January 2024.

Between 30 December 2023 to 31 December 2023, slow vehicle movement was observed on NH-44 between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel due to breakdown of heavy motor vehicles, poor road conditions at Dalwas, and single lane traffic at Cafeteria-Mehad, Magerkote, Nachlana and Hingani. Passengers and LMV operators are advised to undertake daytime journeys and avoid night travel between Ramban and Banihal due to risk of shooting stones.

HMV owners are requested to avoid overloading vehicles and carry sufficient fuel when traveling on NH-44. Only vehicles with 6 or 10 tyres will be allowed via Dhar road.
