Jammu Srinagar National Highway Traffic Advisory

Srinagar 30 Dec (KB): The Traffic Police Headquarters in Jammu & Kashmir today issued an advisory regarding traffic conditions and movement on major highways in the region.

Between December 29 1700 hrs and December 30 1700 hrs, slow vehicle movement was observed on the NH-44 highway between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel due to breakdown of 4 heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) and poor road conditions at several locations. Passengers and light motor vehicle (LMV) operators are advised to plan journeys on the Jammu-Srinagar highway during daytime and avoid travel at night due to the risk of shooting stones between Ramban and Banihal.

HMV owners are requested to avoid overloading vehicles and carry sufficient fuel when travelling on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. Vehicle owners are also advised to thoroughly check vehicle fitness and fuel levels before starting the journey. Only HMVs with 6 or 10 tyres will be allowed via Dhar road.
