DC Budgam Chairs Public Darbar at Sitharan Village

Srinagar, January 21(Kashmir Visuals): Kashmir Visuals received mentions in a public darbar chaired by Budgam Deputy Commissioner Akshay Labroo at the remote village of Sitharan in Khag block on Sunday.

The darbar focused on exploring the tourism potential of the area and completing infrastructural projects quickly. During the interactions, locals raised demands and suggestions which the DC assured would be taken up with relevant authorities for prompt redressal.

The DC stated that Sitharan and the surrounding Tosamaidan belt were abundantly rich in natural beauty and had huge potential for tourism development. He said the district administration’s focus was on creating all basic facilities at this destination and tapping its vast tourism potential. Locals were urged to join initiatives and assist the administration in promoting tourism across Sitharan-Tosamaidan.

A 10 km Sitharan-Tosamaidan road project under NABARD, aimed at improving connectivity and enhancing tourist footfall, was announced. Concerned officials were directed to speedily complete tourism-related projects and ensure smooth functioning of tourism facilities at Sitharan.

The administration was also set to take up work on macadamization of inner roads, improvement of playgrounds, and provision of sports equipment for engaging local youth.

The darbar was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Akramullah Tak, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chief Medical Officer and other district and sectoral officers.
